Note: "Diatonic" vs "Chromatic"
tablature refers not to the way the dulcimer is fretted
- either diatonically or chromatically. Instead, it
refers to the standard style of dulcimer fret
designation which calls the "extra" half-step
frets "1/2" or "+" frets, vs the
standard for other fretted instruments such as guitars,
which automatically assumes a chromatically fretted
instrument. numbering all the frets sequentially.
