1/26/2008 - Building on what we learned last year and at the recent Lake Junaluska gathering, on Friday night from 6:30-8 pm, I'll do a "beginners session" at the hotel for those who know absolutely nothing about what to do with a BD. After that we'll have a jam, and I'll pattern it on the impromptu jam we had at Lake Junaluska where we did more than just all play the melody all the time. I went around and gave people some simple parts to play with the tunes. It worked really well. Saturday will be all day in the library studying technique and tunes using the three part approach. Concert Saturday night, Finish up and review on Sunday morning. We'll do the Master Class thing if everyone wants to do it. Thanks guys. I'm excited about this.

Hi Everyone,

Can you believe it? There is actually going to be a 4th Annual Bowfest - 2008!!!

The dates are April 11, 12, and 13; we will have the same wonderful facilities we had last year. Ben and Cammie are helping out again. Now all I have to do is figure out what to teach, and what to play at the concert. I will post announcements to the various other dulcimer lists after New Year's but I wanted you all to know as soon as I got confirmations from everyone involved. here's hoping you can all make it.

More details will be available on the website, as well as posted to the bowed dulcimer list, as they become known.

I welcome suggestions from anyone who plans to attend. As I am always striving to make better instruments, I also want to make this unique event better and more suited to the needs and desires of the players. I look forward to seeing a lot of you here!
