Pardessus
The string length is 13 inches, that's from the
nut to the bridge.
Add 6 inches from the bridge to the end and
another seven or so for a
peghead and you get an instrument that is about
two feet long or twelve inches shorter than a
standard bowed dulcimer. It can be
fretted up to two octaves. It will have a carved
head and rosewood appointments (fingerboard,
tailpiece, pegs, etc.)
(click
here for more photos). Plays an octave higher than
standard.
